VBS 2015 - Journey Off The Map
Here are some activities I made for my own VBS class to go with Lifeway's Journey Off The Map curriculum. I'm sharing them in case anyone else wants to use them. Some of the activities are actually modified from the curriculum for 1-2 grade. Some of them are just extras. You may make copies to meet your needs. Please do not use the files for profit.

Here are some cards to give kids ideas for the Act It Out Shout activity for day 4, in case they need help thinking of things to act out.

These cards have Scriptures about salvation. Kids can pick a card, and everyone looks it up. It is modified from Look What I Found on page 28, and can be played any time there is a few extra minutes.

Here is a bingo review game. It covers information from the entire week, so play it later in the week. I plan to play it on Thursday and Friday because there are not many spaces related to Friday on the game. The word cards have the answers on them, so everyone can play, even if they missed a day or don't remember the answers.
|
|
There are 10 different cards in each file, so up to 20 kids can play at a time.
|
|
Kids know what to cover on the bingo card by answering questions about the Bible lessons. Just tell them the answer if they don't know.

We did not get the field kits for each child. I made this field journal instead. Is has the same review information from the back of the map. It has space to write notes each day. This is formatted for you to print front/back, fold in half, and then staple.

These are simple signs for one of the days, but now I have them ready.

I like this activity, but I want to send home a snack mix instead of smores, so I modified the recipe card to be an instructions card. I will still have kids draw a scenario where they overcome peer pressure, like the activity directions state.
Snack Mix: Golden Grahams, mini marshmallows, & chocolate chips |

This word search includes key words from the week. I will let the kids do it if they arrive early the first day or two.
