Word Cards
If you like working with flashcards, here are some sets based on the Dolch word lists. The can make it more fun for students to try to read words quickly. You can even time them to see how long it takes to read a set, and then do it again, trying to beat the original time. If the student misses a word, put it back in the pile to try again or set it aside to review.
The first file is a set of additional activity ideas to do with the cards. The rest of the files are just card files. The "small" set is for student use and the regular files are to use in a small group.

In the file below, two or more of the letters in each word are underlined. The letters together make a sound. The child says the sound and then the word. You can select just a few cards to work with at a time, adding additional cards as your instruction increases.
